Play the bagpipes! Absolutely Aggie by Michelle R. Eastman

Today I’d like to give a shout-out to fellow author/blogger/mom Michelle Eastman. She recently released the second in her ‘Dust Fairy Tales’ books–and I was a absolutely charmed by it! The rhymes and the illustrations are adorable and it was the message behind it that really hit home.

Absolutely Aggie–I can so relate to you! Aggie doesn’t quite fit in with the regular, dainty fairies. She dances to the beat of her own drum—which happens to be bagpipes. There’s nothing dainty about bagpipes. Aggie tries hard, she changes her style and the way she expresses herself to be accepted by the other fairies–but of course that doesn’t bring her happiness. Guess you’ll have to read the book to find out if she get’s her happy fairy-tale end 🙂  (yes, yes she does!)

Fairies, music, and dust! Oh my! Aggie is a little Dust Fairy with a big problem. She wants to join the fairy band, but they do not approve of her offbeat style. Aggie is determined to impress them, but that turns out to be harder than she imagined. Just when she thinks she will never find a way to fit in, Aggie discovers it might be more fun to stand out. Lively, rhyming stanzas and vibrant illustrations come together in this magical tale. It is sure to delight boys and girls alike while imparting a positive message about embracing one’s individuality.

I did a fun Q&A with Michelle here on my blog for her first book, The Legend of Dust Bunnies, if you’d like to read more about her and her writing. And of course, you can find her on Twitter @meastmanbooks

Happy reading!!

  1. Aw…I am glad you enjoyed the book. Thanks, so much, for sharing. You are one of the first authors I “met” when I began this wacky adventure of writing for kids. It’s been wonderful to reconnect. I hope you had a great Christmas!

    1. What the what? I just found your comment in my spam filter (bad spam filter) Thanks for stopping by and I’ll be checking out the blog post to find out what an Liebster award is, but it sounds good to me! 🙂
